Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG)

The IAG sector is growing and gaining more prominence and not just confined to career IAG. It involves working with a range of clients, agencies and organisations within the private and public sectors. Job roles include Career Advisors, HR Administrators, Family Support Officers, Customer Liaison Officers, CAB Ad-visors and other roles which involve working directly with clients, disseminating information, advice, guidance and formal advocacy.

By undertaking the IAG qualifications at the appropriate level you will gain the knowledge, understanding and skills necessary to work efficiently within the range of IAG roles.

The Apprenticeship Framework

The Apprenticeship Framework consists of a suite of qualifications, a combined competency/knowledge based qualification, essential skills and employee rights & responsibilities.

The time taken to complete the apprenticeship framework differs for each individual but you should expect to complete within 13 to 16 months. An Individual Learning Plan is agreed and put together, personalised for your learning.

Dependent on your current job role and prior learning, learning can be undertaken at one of the following levels. Once complete you may have the opportunity to progress to the next level.

  • Level 3 – Apprenticeship
  • Level 4 – Higher Apprenticeship
